Mayhall Inducted into Hall of Fame

Jo Ann Mayhall's family is very proud that Daymond has been inducted into the Texas Square Dance Callers' Hall of Fame. In fact, he's the first person from the Texas Gulf Coast to ever receive the honor!

And it was a family affair at his surprise induction service October 23rd.

Daymond has been calling in the Houston area over 40 years.  He is the club caller for The Brazos Bottom Belles and Beaus in Sugar Land for 37 years, and Strawberry Squares in Pasadena for 30 years.      

Daymond and his wife Jo Ann enjoy square dancing, along with all the many activities that come with taking part in our National Folk Dance.  They invite others to join in the fun too by going to www.bbbbhome.com for information about classes.

Spring Events

Mary Abbott sends the following spring events:

  Ft. Bend Master Gardener Fruit Tree Sale 2009 is on Sat., 2/14 beginning at 9 am for the sale with Heidi Sheely Tree expert speaking at 8 am complete with handouts. This event is at Ft. Bend County Fairgrounds, 4310 Hwy.36 So. ,  Rosenberg, Tx.

Ft. Bend Master Gardener 2009 Perennial Sale is Saturday, March 14, at the same location as the event listed above. Same time, etc.

 

On May 9th there will be the Vintage Rose Sale in Needville, Tx. at the Vintage Rose Gardens. I do not have their address other than I go on 36 South of 59 till I am almost out of Needville across from the high school.

Programs . . .

And Nancy Lindsay is busy with programs. Mark your calendar . . . our first meeting and coffee will be held at the Townhomes of Quail Valley Club House . . . 2600 Yorktown Lane. This is accessible off of Kingsbrook (turn left on Nottingham Lane). There are 20 parking spaces in front, with overflow space on across Kingsbrook in two church lots. I walked the area and both lots. . . easy access and convenient location. Map link is below.
