Program: Let's Eat the Flowers. Jane Gray, Master Gardner wll share ways to include edible flowers and vegetables in existing landscapes. Jane will also answer questions on ways to combine flowers and food crops as well as how to use them in our homes and cooking.

Program: The Meaning of Flowers. Ginny Grant wll discuss the meaning of flowers as they are used on certain holidays and their history related to each occasion.
Arbor Day: Following our program and short business meeting, we will meet at MacNaughton Park (old Executive 9) to dedicate 8 new trees in a new grove planted there. Our park bench for the park will be installed by April. (Park at the El Dorado Half-way house at Hampton and East Creek Club.)

Program: Organic Roses. Gaye Hammond, past president of the Houston Rose Society, will speak on Earth-Kind roses that are free from the need to fertilize or spray. She will answer questions about Earth-Kind as well as all roses.
Horticulture: Members bring specimens to promote gardening skills and share our love of gardening amoung members and guests. There will be a short business meeting and election of next year's board.

Program: Beautiful Trees. Paul Wierzbicki, Urban Forrester of Missouri City, will share information on the grove of fruit trees donated by Quail Valley Garden Club to the Missouri City Edible Arbor Trail. Paul will also talk about the drought and how it will affect trees in the coming years.
There will be a short Dedication Ceremony at noon for our tree grove of Golden Figs at the Edible Arbor Trail (on Oyster Creek near WalMart). City Council and Parks have been invited. Please wear your QVGC apron and plan to attend. Download EAT flier for directions to Edible Arbor Trail.

Program: Hurray for Insects. Don Johnson, Master Gardener, Master Naturalist, and Master Gardener Entomology Specialist, will discuss the value of insects in our gardens. He will help identify some of the insects that are welcome and others that ould cause problems. (PS . . . If you love Hummingbirds, their major source of protein are insects. Nectar fuels them up for long flights, but they must have protein to thrive.)
