Back to the Future. When Roane Park was first dedicated in 1984, Quail Valley Garden Club planted its first five trees. Now that Roane Park has been made safer by re-routing Turtle Creek, new plantings are needed. To commemorate this improvement, Quail Valley Garden Club through the Missouri City Parks & Recreation Department has planted a Shumard Oak to shade a walkway and provide its beautiful red color during Autumn.

Our Club had also intended to visit the 200 year Freedom Tree, but colder than normal weather made that impossible. Ann Caraway provided a moving talk about the Freedom Tree.
