The backyard tour was a huge success on many fronts. The Braswell's garden shows just a hint of the color of the gardens and energy of the attendees. And there was a crowd of 238 who visited Quail Valley from as far as Conroe thanks to a picture and feature about out tour in the gardening part of the Houston Chronicle. Thank you Kathy Huber, the Fort Bend Independent, the Southwest Star, and the Valley Views news for helping us promote the tour. Other Garden Clubs, clubs and Quails were also generous in allowing us to promote our tour.
Roddy Chambless and his gang supplied the tent for our All Potted Up Plant Sale that gave us a place that did not interfere with golfers coming to the Halfway House . . . and added some real professionalism. Odean Head brought his bromeliads along with Roddy's picnic tables and squirrel feeders.
And Marilyn Ellis just did a marvelous job of merchandising and selecting sale items!

We mentioned success of the tour. It comes in many forms. We promoted gardening, community appearance, brought 238 attendees to Quail Valley, had a good time, as well as made money for our service projects. We also learned new techniques for potting container plants and enjoyed that fellowship.
Most of all we showed some gorgeous and varied gardens and had a wonderful group of garden owners who provided their hospitality and knowledge.
Our Volunteers and Garden Owners had a great Preview Party with a Wine & Cheese following at Lane Pearson's.
