Wild Flowers Growing in Demonstration Area

As a backdrop to Mosley Park the Quail Valley Garden Club, in cooperation with County Commissioner Prestage and County mowing, planted Indian Paint Brushes and Bluebonnets to enhance the already beautiful yellow wildflowers along Oyster Creek and Murphy Road.

The Indian Paintbrushes are taller than the Bluebonnets and are becoming more visible from the Oyster Creek Trail. This also forms a backdrop for Mosley Park for picnics and trail enthusiasts alike.

 

The Bluebonnets are starting to fill in . . .

But are still shorter than the taller Paint Brushes so they are hard to see from Murphy Road.

We are hoping the display will be in full glory for the Quail Valley Backyard Garden Tour April 24 from 10-3. Come enjoy the meadow of wildflowers and relish spring!

The blooming of the flowers are especially poignant for QVGC members, as Bluebonnet Chair, Gretchen Cockerill, lost her husband Bob as the project was being implemented. These flowers honor Bob's memory.
